The statements were made during the “Wind Energy Panel: Wind projects, challenges, opportunities and their future in Chile” at Energyear 2025.

Suncast hit a milestone in the renewable energy digital revolution by participating as a partner at Energyear LATAM 2025. The event, which gathered key stakeholders in the energy industry, was the perfect scenario for the company to share its experience and vision for implementing Artificial Intelligence in the wind energy sector.

In this edition, Pedro Correa Álvarez, Suncast’s CTO, actively participated in the “Wind Energy Panel: Wind projects, challenges, opportunities and their future in Chile”. During his intervention, Correa Álvarez emphasized how artificial intelligence had transformed the way wind energy projects were managed, improving operational stability and optimizing the performance of the power plants.

Suncast’s CTO highlighted the importance of having precise wind energy forecasts to ensure the correct performance of the electrical system: “The wind energy capacity in Chile continues to increase, and to achieve this without compromising the stability of the electrical system, it is necessary to have quality forecasts that ensure the correct planning of the operation. Progress in forecasting technology is crucial to maintain a stable and efficient operation,” said Correa.

Suncast’s exponential growth in the sector was evident. Suncast was consolidated as a key ally regarding forecasts, contributing to network stability and operational optimization of wind farms. In 2022, the company worked with 200 MW and in two years, it increased by 14 times, reaching 2800 MW in 2024, representing over 50% of the National Electric System’s (SEN) installed wind capacity. This expansion demonstrates the sector’s trust in Suncast’s accurate and reliable models, allowing suppliers to simultaneously improve planning and comply with the required regulations related to forecast submissions.

With its participation in Energyear LATAM 2025, Suncast reaffirmed its commitment to continue promoting the future of energy through innovative technology.
